Parent Testimonials

Our primary goal as an autism therapy provider is to help each child reach his or her greatest potential, whatever that may be. We do this by steadily transitioning our kids to their next target until they are able to graduate from our program into their next phase in life. Scroll down to read some testimonials from families that we have served and learn about the success they found for their children through ABC.

Our son, Lucas J., turned 9 this past weekend. As I reflect on his journey I can’t help but feel immensely grateful for the foundation of growth that the Applied Behavior Center for Autism provided. When he was diagnosed we had no idea what to expect for the years ahead. The helplessness was overwhelming.

The ABC family welcomed us immediately. It felt like they wanted Lucas to be the best he could be. From the beginning his therapists found what motivated him, redirected behaviors, and made a serious action plan. They spent one-on-one time with him, teaching basic, step-by-step skills. Since he began communicating he hasn’t stopped. Every day he learned new things, gaining confidence along the way.

“Our family is convinced that getting him started early with consistent, tracked therapy made the difference in his story.”

“We’ve finally gotten to see his personality emerge. It’s incredible to see how far he has come.”

Not everyone who is touched by autism has as good an outcome. Our family is convinced that getting him started early with consistent, tracked therapy made the difference in his story. As his parents, it was difficult to realize we didn’t have the tools to break through to him. Once we allowed others into our circle, the helplessness turned to hope. We saw real improvements.

Today Lucas attends 3rd grade at a public school, has friends and an incredibly supportive sister, communicates his feelings, and enjoys learning…most of the time! We’ve finally gotten to see his personality emerge. It’s incredible to see how far he has come.

Our daughter, Amanda M., was diagnosed with autism, anxiety, and apraxia of speech when she was two years old. As a family, we struggled to find resources that helped Amanda grow with her communication, life skills, and developmental milestones. We researched options and felt like ABA therapy was the best solution for our daughter’s needs.

Once we decided we should look at ABA therapy we reviewed a few different organizations and realized that the Applied Behavior Center for Autism was the best place for our daughter. ABC was very accommodating and helped us plan the best program for our daughter. We were really impressed because ABC had a facility that was specifically focused on early childhood, while also offering other services like speech therapy, public/group outings, and swim lessons.

We saw tremendous growth while Amanda was at the Early Childhood Center. With one-on-one attention, she starting progressing with her communication, socialization, and life skills. Over her first year at the Early Childhood Center, Amanda’s Behavior Technicians and Speech Therapist worked together to incorporate speech therapy techniques into her daily routine.

“We saw tremendous growth while Amanda was at the Early Childhood Center. With one-on-one attention, she starting progressing with her communication, socialization, and life skills.”

“Many thanks to all the therapists and staff at ABC! Our daughter wouldn’t have grown and developed into the girl she is today without your help!”

As her communication skills grew, the therapists incorporated more group activities into Amanda’s schedule so she could practice communicating and playing with her peers at the Early Childhood Center. We believe this made the biggest impact on her life. By the time she transitioned back to school, she was successfully communicating within a group, could ask for a specific item, tell us our home address, and let us know if she was hungry. This was a tremendous achievement and we’re thankful to ABC for their diligent efforts!

By the time Amanda was 5 years old, we knew she was ready to transition back into an academic setting. We worked with ABC to develop a plan to help her transition back into school. In her final year at the Early Childhood Center, Amanda would work in a group that focused on academic skills in a mock classroom environment. We feel this preparation really helped her succeed as she entered Kindergarten and beyond.

Many thanks to all the therapists and staff at ABC! Our daughter wouldn’t have grown and developed into the girl she is today without your help!

We would like to express our gratitude to the Applied Behavior Center for Autism for preparing our son, Julian S., for a lifetime of success. When he was first diagnosed with autism, we were nervous and clueless about how to handle his diagnosis. ABC educated our family on autism.

ABC provided a positive learning environment for Julian and our family. They provided him with the skills and resources to guide him through life. ABC also gave our family the skills necessary to assist Julian with his journey.

“ABC also gave our family the skills necessary to assist Julian with his journey.”

“We would like to thank the staff for equipping Julian for a better future. We now can see him growing into an independent individual academically and socially.”

Since he graduated from ABC, we’ve continued to rely on the knowledge and skills that we learned from the center. Equipped with this knowledge, Julian was able to attend and enjoy summer camp with his siblings. The counselors first allowed him a 2 day trial period, and he did so well that the counselors forgot about his diagnosis and allowed him to finish the last three weeks of camp. This is was an incredible achievement for Julian and our family.

The Applied Behavior Center for Autism has provided our family with advice, assistance, and resources even after he has completed the program. We would like to thank the staff for equipping Julian for a better future. We now can see him growing into an independent individual academically and socially.
